About the craftsmanship
Afghan artisans are skilled in a range of embroidery techniques, such as Kandahari and Tarshumar, that they bring with them from home. "Traditionally Afghan mothers make sure their daughters learn embroidering from a young age. It is part of their training while growing up. Girls make their own dowries by embroidering clothing, wall art, pillows, runners, caps etc. These pieces they take to their new homes after they get married." - Tahira, Founder of Artisan Links
