Harmony Trio
The Holiday Collection
Fill your home with meaning these holidays, with a symbol of solidarity, empowerment and hope. All 24 ornaments in the MADE51 Holiday Collection are handcrafted by refugees, and tell the story about the cultural heritage of its maker.
This beautiful set of three completes your holiday decorating with each ornament handcrafted by Malian, Karenni and Rohingya refugee artisans. These ornaments represent hope and resiliency and are a symbol of solidarity with the refugee community.
Give a gift that tells a story this holiday season. This set includes:
The Shooting Star: Crafted by Malian refugees living in Burkina Faso. This star is a shining example of the metalworking skills of Tuareg artisans. For these nomadic pastoralists, who traditionally live in the Sahara Desert, stars in the night sky are navigational tools. Made in partnership with UNHCR
The Charming Songbird: Crafted by Karenni refugees living in Thailand. This little bird is made from handwoven textiles by Karenni women. The women spin threads, dye them, and weaving them into fine fabrics using traditional backstrap looms. Made in partnership with WEAVE Women
The Beaming Rings: Crafted by Rohingya refugees living in India. Three rings wrapped with cotton thread in a radiant ombré effect are inspired by the bangles worn by Rohingya women for festive occasions. Bound together, the graceful design represents the strength of women. Made in partnership with Silaiwali
Note: These products are handmade and there will be slight variations in shape, size, and colour.
